Oh how I love that Titus!

For those of you who don't know, Titus will be turning 3 on Friday and though this makes my post a bit premature, I have to do it. Besides I'm perpetually in catch-up mode, so I'll catch-up later.

After my morning run (I made it up to 20 minutes running on the treadmill...yippee!) I got the kids from the kids room and found out that Titus, in his carnal need for the car in Abigail's hands, grabbed the car and scratched this poor girl. Well, in all honesty I would never consider her or any other kid a "poor kid" when getting hurt so mildly, but that doesn't belittle my angel's infraction in the least.

I approached him to find out what happened and his natural response was to put his hand back to cover his hiney. Like that's going to work. I told him we'd take care of it at home.

As we pulled into the garage Titus asked me if I could spank him with my hand. Sorry kiddo, not if that's what you want. Then he, in his fancy free manner said, as happily as can be, "I'm going to cry like a baby." I laughed but kept my focus on teaching my little mongrel that no matter how much you want the truck, you can't just grab at it. He walked in the house, went into the drawer and got the spoon (FYI I prefer Pampered Chef's bamboo spoons) and said, "I got the spanking spoon" still not seeming to care that it will soon be tanning his hide. I told him to go to my room and he went (I can't say he doesn't listen) and when I got there he said, "can you spank my jeans?" He wants the easy way out and he knows what that entails, doesn't he? Or does he?

Well now he realizes that this is no longer fun and puts his hand back to cover his backside. I told him that it would hurt to have his hand spanked, so he'd probably like to move it to which he said "spank my hand, mommy." I lovingly obliged and he quickly realized I was right. I got the job done and he did indeed cry like a baby but was soon frolicking upstairs like nothing happened. Oh how I love that Titus!

This kid is too funny! Can't wait to spend some time with him (and the rest of you) this summer! Thanks for the smile. Love you!

Shelly, seriously, you need to write a book about your adventures as a mom! YOu could do a couple chapters on Titus alone!

I'd love to see Titus and Denise's Margaux get together. There's NOTHING that would be safe with those two around. Keep up the good work, Shelly. They grow up too fast and soon they'll be gone.
